I have believed that healing is provided for all in the atonement. So my default faith on the matter is that we have all been healed by the stripes of Jesus. It has already been done. I have walked in almost perfect health for 35 years. Even when some little cold or fever would crop up I would simply thank God that I was healed by the stripes of Jesus. I would doubt the sickness. I have also noticed that people who do not believe this, that is; people who do not believe we have all been healed by the stripes of Jesus... seem to get sick very often and most always think that it is the will of God for them to be sick. I would have to say that people get what they believe. The scriptural basis for this is: 1Pe 2:24 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. Mat 8:16-17 16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with [his] word, and healed all that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare [our] sicknesses. Gal 3:13 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree: 2Co 1:20 20 For all the promises of God in him [are] yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 3Jo 1:2 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. People who do not perceive the reason the body of Jesus suffered on the cross will be sick, weak, and die young: 1Co 11:29-30 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 30 For this cause many [are] weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. We are promised answers to prayer... and this includes health and healing: Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Joh 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do [it]. Joh 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give [it] you. Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Mat 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them]. The story of the 12 spies is interesting. 12 spies were sent into the promised land to spy it out and return to the Jews with a report. The 12 returned: Num 13:30-33 30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. 31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they [are] stronger than we. 32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, [is] a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it [are] men of a great stature. 33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, [which come] of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. Joshua and Caleb said "we are well able to overcome the land", and the other spies said "we are not able to go up against the people... for they are stronger than we". The people believed the 10 spies and said: Num 14:2 2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! You know what. Not a single soul entered into the promised land EXCEPT Caleb and Joshua. Num 14:29-30 29 Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me, 30 Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, [concerning] which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun. The ten spies who made the evil report and all the people who believed it all died in the wilderness _just as they said they would_. YOU RECEIVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE AND SAY!
