I see healing as being a "fact of redemption" that has already been promised with qualifications... and that Jesus fulfilled those qualifications in the cross. We do not have to ask Him to do these things again, since it is finished. The will of God was established in the garden when Jesus asked if the cup could be taken from Him. It was then that the will of God was queried and made known: Jesus prayed: "If it be thy will". If God said no to Jesus here... it was becasue He was saying yes to our redemption. Not just spiritual, but redemption in every way we can be redeemed. So as far as the will of God is concerned, those who believe that healing is a part of the atonement beleive that the issue about the will of God was addressed there. If Jesus took the cup... that was the will of God being manifested and revealed. It was completed when He was made a curse for us on the cross. A couple questions rise up here. We all believe that the blood and death of Jesus are what paid for our sins and salvation. So why the beatings, whipping, crucifixion, and torture? Death and blood could have been achieved without all the terrible suffering. So why the cross and the suffering? They could have just taken swords out to the garden and killed Jesus with one blow. Would not our salvation have been achieved just as well? Indeed, in all the types and shadows of the OT, the sheep, the lambs, the doves, the oxen, etc... were not subjected to torture and terrible suffering. They were killed swiftly. That was all that was needful for salvation. A bloody sacrifice. The answer (I believe) is in this teaching about the body of the Lord. The body of the Lord endured all these beatings, whippings, the crucifixion, etc to effect our redemption from the curse of the law.
