Believe You Received
People need to know all they can about prayer. So many people's prayers just never make it above the ceiling because:
  • first of all they do not know the nature and will of God well enough to pray in accordance with it, and
  • second they do not know that they have to believe they receive when they pray.

They will throw out a prayer that is little more than a rehearsing of the problem, and then stand around to see if anything happens. If nothing happens (and it usually will not using this sort of "faith") then they will assume that it must not have been the will of God. Worse than that, they then proceed to define the nature of God and the will of God by the result of these "psuedo - prayers". They seek to define God and His will by the results of their own faithless prayers! They not only come away accusing God of denying us the very things Jesus died to give us, but they tell others that this is the kind of God that He is. HOW SAD!

For many years I thought the same way and told others the same things. That is the carnal believer method of walking with God (described above)... devoid of faith and not believing in a God that always says yes to faith: simply because that is what Jesus said! All who ask believing will receive what they ask for. Period! I am ashamed to say it took me at least 5 years as a "believer" to get ahold of what faith is. Until then it was just hit and miss.

What folks are not seeing is that it is always the ultimate and perfect will of God to save, heal, and deliver anyone who calls on His name with faith. They pray as I described above. They pray for healing, and then wait to see what happens. If she was healed, then they would believe. But Jesus said to believe "when you pray" that you have "already received". You cannot do this if the will of God is still up in the air. You cannot pray that you have received if you do not know the will of God. It is impossible. You have to go into prayer knowing absolutely that it is His will to have what you are asking for. "I dunno" does not cut it.

That is doubt and doubt gets nothing.
