Faith to overcome sin in your life.
Your righteous heart grieves at the sin. We are all subject to the tempations and of the ever present flesh. In one regard you should rejoice that your spirit does grieve. That is telling you that you are indeed a child of God in your heart, and the righteous new man within seeks to be pure and Holy outwardly as he is inwardly. Praise God for the holiess within you.
This is you dear brother:
Ephesians 4:24 KJV
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
You are living this verse. That new man that is inside you, that was born again into you at the new birth, wants to manifest itself on the outside. Christ wants to manifest His life in and through you. That new man was created in righteousness and true holiness. HE IS IN THERE!!! Rejoice dear saint that you have been made the righteousness of God in Christ. What you are experiencing is a miracle. What you are feeling is the presence of Christ inside you!
I want to give you exciting news. YOU CAN LIVE A PURE AND HOLY LIFE! Look at this glorious verse:
1 John 5:4 KJV
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
WOW! Can you fathom this verse? You CAN overcome the world! HOW?
We overcome the world by faith!!!
The same ability that enables us to be saved, healed, and receive answered prayer is also the ability He has given us to overcome sin in our lives!
IT WORKS!!!!
I am going to unveil a truth that I discovered down through the years, and that has helped me in so many ways. Please bare with me dear heart. God began to show me these things back in the 80s when I too was struggling with sins such as lust, pride, "wandering eyes" (you know what I mean!!!). I pleaded and begged God for help. I even told Him that if I could not overcome these things, I would rather die and come home and be over with. He had other plans. After scolding me for my lack of faith and blindness toward His word, He showed me this truth.
First: look at what that same book defines as the world:
1 John 2:16 KJV
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Is the sin that you are captured by covered here?
Lust of the flesh?
Lust of the flesh is overcome by our faith!
Lust of the eyes?
Lust of the eyes is overcome by our faith!!
Pride of LIFE?
Pride of life is overcome by our faith!!!!
The word says you overcome these things with your faith!!! Glory to GOD!!!! Begin to praise God for this truth. Accept it as true in your life now! YOU ARE A WORLD OVERCOMER!!
We do not overcome these things by will power. That is the carnal natural man trying to be saved by works. It is like trying to wash away dirt with muddy water. It only makes it worse!
We do not overcome these things by begging or pleading with God. He told us to do something about our flesh. You are not going to overcome the flesh with the flesh. Your spirit is what is going to overcome the flesh. He said you can, and so you CAN! He does not lie!
So the first thing you must do is side with Him on this issue. Begin to praise Him and thank Him that the new man within you is going to be put on the outside. The man of faith on the inside is going to assert himself and overcome the worldly flesh man on the outside! He said you can... so now we are going to do it!!!! Do not be like the 10 spies who said we are not able to do it. Be like Joshua and Caleb and give a good report.
WE ARE WELL ABLE TO OVERCOME THE WORLD!!
Confess it!
I AM WELL ABLE TO OVERCOME THE LUST OF THE FLESH WITH MY FAITH!
I AM WELL ABLE TO OVERCOME THE LUST OF THE EYES WITH MY FAITH!
I AM WELL ABLE TO OVERCOME THE PRIDE OF LIFE WITH MY FAITH!
Every time you go to God in prayer, make these good confessions.
When God began to open these things up to me, He led me to the Young's Literal translation of the Bible. Young was fanatical about the correct, word for word rendering of the Hebrew verb tenses. One such was called the "Waw converse". Look at how the commandments are rendered in Young's Literal Translation:
Deuteronomy 5:17-21 YLT
17 `Thou dost not murder.
18 `Thou dost not commit adultery.
19 `Thou dost not steal.
20 `Thou dost not answer against thy neighbour--a false testimony.
21 `Thou dost not desire thy neighbour's wife; nor dost thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, and his man-servant, and his handmaid, his ox, and his ass, and anything which is thy neighbour's.
These sound more like statements of fact about us than commmandments. These are telling us what we do not do!
"I do not commit murder!"
"I do not commit commit adultery!"
"I do not steal."
"I do not desire my neighbour's wife."
THESE ARE CONFESSIONS OF FAITH!
Look how God intended for us to use the words to help us overcome sin:
Psalms 119:11 KJV
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
DO you see it dear saint? Do you see that your new man that was created in righteousness and true holiness is going to take these words and use them by faith to overcome every aspect of the world, the flesh, and even the devil. You will apply the word of God to your life by faith. You will begin to say that these things are true about YOU!
When you do, you will begin to see it happening. You will begin to feel the effects of it in your body and in your soul. The world of God applied by faith to your life, your flesh, and your mind, will begin to overcome every enemy, every evil urge, every habit and sin.
IT WORKS!
You will begin to see this happen:
Psalms 37:29-31 KJV
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
Can you grasp that brother!!?? Can you run with it? Do you dare bolt from the pack of mere religious practicioners and run with those who will be the genuine children of God... who will do the works of God.. who will be renown?
YOU CAN!
The holy and righeous man of Christ lives in your heart. Let him out!
Begin to confess all that the Word of God says about who you are, what you are, and what you can do:
"I am the righteousness of God in Christ..."
"I was created in righteousness and true holiness after the image of Him who created me"
"I have been given all things that pertain to life AND GODLINESS..."
"I have been given the power to be and walk as a child of God..."
"I do not fornicate (greek 'PORNeia')"
"I do not lie"
"I do not strive with my brothers"
"I have been blessed with all spiriutal blessings that exist in the heavens..."
The word says you can do it!
Ephesians 1
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
"I live holy and without blame before him in love"
Ephesians 2
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
I am His workmanship, created in Chirst Jesus to good works... which God has ordained that I should walk in them.
Titus 2:
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself [his own] special people, zealous of good works.
"I am being pruified to Him as one of His own special people!"
1 Thessalonians 5
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
"I am being sanctified completely in spirit soul and body. I will be blameless before Him at His coming!"
Are you excited dear saint?
Will you dare to beleive this verse exactly as it is presented.
1 John 3:
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
Most will not dare believe it. They have been fed sin consciousness for so long they will not see the truth of it. They want to believe they are poor sinners saved by grace forever subject to the power of sin and never being able to overcome. So sad. They will never reach the place Paul spoke of:
Galatians 5
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
He is not talking about merely being "declared" righteous here. He is talking about actaul, real righteousness being manifested in your life by the application of faith by love.
You are born of God, your spirit is the seed of God: YOU CANNOT SIN. You do NOT commit sin. The new inner man within is as incapable of sinning as his Father is. You are the image of your Father. Dare to confess these things and your life will change in ways you cannot imagine.
"I am born of God and I doth not commit sin."
"His seed remains in me, and I CANNOT SIN."
