The vast majority of those who deride WoF really do not know what WoF beleives. This is due in part to the incorrect assumption that everyone on TV shows like TBN are WoF and what they say is a true reflection of what WoF is all about.

WoF is not all about prosperity health and long life. That is just what you hear about the most. WoF is about taking God at His word. WoF says that the Word (and therefore the will) of God is settled in heaven. God is not up there making decisions who will be saved and who will not, nor is He deciding what prayers will answered and which will not. Let me qualify:
As a Wof believer for 27 years this is my understanding: We believe that God has done everything that He is going to do in order to save men in every way that they can be saved. He has already done it, and it is available to everyone that believes. He is not picking and choosing who will benefit from the gospel. God manifested His will when He sent Jesus to accomplish everything that was needed to secure and complete our salvation. He confirmed His will when Jesus asked if the cup could be removed. Therefore the will of God for every man was established at the cross and at the resurrection. There are no exceptions. Jesus did not die for some but not others. He did not become a curse for some but not others. He did not take away the sin of some, but leave it for others. He did not give "all things that pertain to live and godliness" to some but refuse others. We believe He has already done everything that needs to be done to secure and complete our salvation. There is really nothing left for Him to do. His "will and testament" has been signed sealed and delivered. It is now up to us to believe what God has done. That is the heart and spirit of WoF.

We have discussed this before but it is good to repeat: God never says no to the prayers He hears. He has not said no in 2000 years. Note I said He never says no to prayers that He hears. This is important because you must realize that He does not even hear prayers that are outside His will. Therefore every prayer that is within His will is heard, and every one if them gets a yes.

1Jo 5:14-15
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Please note that in the context of verse 14 the implication is that if we do not know it is the will of God to have what we ask for then we cannot have faith; if we cannot have faith, then our prayers are not heard. This is how we get "the confidence in Him". We get it because we know the will of God, believe that He hears us, and know that we have the things we ask for. Of course the reverse is also true else this verse is meaningless. If you do not know it is His will, then you cannot pray in faith and therefore He does not hear!

Praying to God about things where His will is not known is like shooting in the dark. So unless you can pray knowing the will God, then your prayer life is hit and miss... and more miss than hit.

Many who criticise WoF believe that the will of God is still up in the air and that everything we pray for (even salvation) is still subject to a current decision by God. It really is not. He is not making decisions. The "gospel machine" has been set in motion and everyone who "works it" gets the benefits.

So where do we discover the will of God?

The number one place is to look at Jesus. What did Jesus say and do? Did He ever refuse to heal anyone? Did he ever say a rediculous thing like "the Father wants you sick to teach you a lesson and sanctify you.."

No. Not once. We are sanctified by His word. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.

The second place is the NT epistles and book of Acts, These are books written for our edification, comfort, and exhortation. If the epistles say something is ours, then we know that it pretains to us.

The third place is the gospels and the OT. Some of these are not always ours because they were written under the OT and sometimes they simply do not apply to NT born again believers (take Job for example).

The last yet a very important place is the general attributes of God. This is good if you are willing to see that anything mentioned in #1,2,and 3 overrule any understanding you might hold regarding the general attributes of God. For instance: the "OMNI" factors might lead you to believe that God it to big and beyond our comprehension to understand. Well if He is to big to understand, then how can we say that we could ever understand His will? Using this logic one might conclude that it would be within the will of God to make His babies sick or even kill them "for their own good". Yet in #1 above we see that Jesus never made anyone sick and never killed anyone. It is gross error to take the clear image of the Father as displayed by Jesus and overrule it with some reasoning derived from these general attributes! Yet this happens all the time on these boards! The general attributes are a "source of last resort". Yet even the general attrubutes will display a correct image of the will of God if you understand that "God is, and he is a rewarder of those who dilegently seek Him". This is a baseline of which we can depend He will never sink below. This is baseline faith and anything lower than this does not please God!
